Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a natural light newborn and family photographer in the North Dallas area. I love photographing a mix of lifestyle and mildly posed portraits. My absolute favorite session to photograph is a brand new baby with their family in their everyday surroundings. I occasionally shoot weddings, which I also adore, but have decided to take a break from at the moment to have more time with my family. I of course enjoy taking photographs of my own children! I have four really great ones. The 15, 13, 7, and 1.5 year old definitely keep me on my toes! I honestly don’t capture enough of them. However, I’m inspired to work on that!
What inspires you to pause and pick up your camera?
I’ve been known to have my husband pull off the highway to get a shot of the kids in a pretty setting before.. Though, more often than not, I won’t have my big- girl camera with me. I’ve really been trying to have less of those “man, I wish I had my camera with me” moments! The camera-phone takes way too many of those good times. At home, I run to my camera when I’m in the presence of a moment that I truly want to remember. When the light falls just so on one of my little sweethearts or I see a beautiful moment between loved ones no matter where we are. Inspiration can come unexpectedly from anywhere… even in the everyday.
