Contributor Spot: Stacey Markel

It’s time to get to know another contributor. This week it is Stacey Markel of Stacey Markel Photography.

Here is what Stacey has to say with what is inspiring her right now:

A few years ago, I started participating in a 52 week challenge. I learned so much about myself and photography during that time and I was always inspired by the friends I made through the challenge. Unfortunately, over time, I started to become a bit bored with it since there was always a theme and sometimes I just was not inspired by the theme. Fast forward to the end of 2014 when I started to be intrigued by the thought participating in a 365. But the more I thought about it, the more I thought that there’s no way I would be able to keep up with a 365….there are times I don’t even want to look at my camera for personal use because I’m so busy with client work. So, what did I do??? Well, I decided to jump in and start it anyway. What could it hurt? I decided to do it with my phone so I wouldn’t feel as pressured to get out my big girl camera if I didn’t want to. I am happy to say that I am still participating every day. It has really inspired me to capture the daily things I do with my family. They’re not all frame worthy since they’re cell phone images but I’m proud to have stuck to the daily photography. I’m especially excited about the ones I’ve set the timer for because it’s nice to be in the images too! I cannot wait to look back on 2015 at all the images I’ve captured throughout the year.
